FR. JULIO CÉSAR VÁZQUEZ VEGA

Diocesan priest formed at the San León Magno Major Seminary in Cuenca. He was born on November 13, 1965 in Cuenca, Azuay, Ecuador. He grew up in a Catholic family being the youngest of 10 siblings, his father was Heriberto Vasquez Ramirez and his mother is Graciela Vega Zamora. It belongs to the first community of the neocatechumenal path of the "San Blas" parish of Cuenca. It was ordered on October 26, 1991; He currently has 31 years of priesthood. He began his priestly ministry in the "San Francisco" parish in the city of Cuenca, where he spent 8 months as a parish priest. Subsequently, he held the position of Rector of the Redemptoris Mater Diocesan Missionary Seminary "San Pedro Claver" for 17 years, from September 9, 2005 (date of the Seminary's erection) until June 15, 2022, being the first Rector of this Seminary. . He currently exercises his ministry as parish priest of the "Nuestra Señora del Carmen de Sidcay" parish in Cuenca.
